Tell us about yourself and your research interests?
I am Ph.D. holder in Medical Immunology (2016) from Maseno University in Kenya. I also have a Masters degree in Immunology (Moi University, Kenya) and a Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya). To empower myself I have also done many short courses/trainings and workshops including: - Infectious Diseases in Africa, “Introduction to R” for data management and analysis, how viruses hijack host immunity leading to cancer, Advances in the Immunobiology of Parasites, Pathogens and Pathogenesis Training-KEMRI, Electronic library resources training-DAAD, Good Clinical Laboratory Practice Training, Safe phlebotomy practices training, HIV/AIDS Management Training-NASCOP and others.
I currently work as a lecturer and chairman of Medical Laboratory Sciences Department at Kisii University, Kenya. I have a lot of research interest in tackling tropical and viral diseases biased to HIV and HPV. I spearheaded the formation of a Research cluster in the school of health sciences at Kisii University and we focus our research on HIV, cancer, malaria and Tuberculosis among other infectious diseases.
