I am a young scientist/researcher who loves and respects all that aims at achieving peace and truth. My academic path has been motivated by a deep desire to contribute to the resolution of any major public health issue; through sound scientific research and education. As a postgraduate, I actively contributed to 3 research projects on:

  1. Properties of raffia fruit pulp as potential bio-functional food— an MSc in Biochemistry; University of Yaounde 1 (Cameroon).

  2. Role of neutrophils within fat-associated lymphoid clusters (ultimately on abdominal metabolic deregulation in obesity).

  3. Using CRISPR-Cas9 technology for investigating DNA repair mechanisms that contribute to mutations (ultimately for cancer immunotherapy).

The last two were during my commonwealth scholarship-funded MSc by Research in Biomedical Sciences (Benezech and Batada labs, respectively) from the University of Edinburgh (UK); where I developed a profound interest in immunology/inflammation.
My current PhD research aims at revealing the contribution of neutrophils to the long-term lung damage incurred by actively infected TB patients. I am working with the TB research group supervised by Dr Jayne Sutherland within the MRCG at LSHTM (The Gambia) in co-supervision with Dr Christof Geldmacher from the division of infectious diseases and tropical medicine at LMU (Munich, Germany).
