I received my B.Sc. (Biochemistry) and M.Sc. (Biotechnology) from the University of Zimbabwe. I developed an interest in immunological aspects of infectious and allergic diseases while working as an intern at a specialist clinic in Zimbabwe (Asthma, Allergy and Immunology Clinic). This led me to enrol for a DPhil in Clinical Medicine, focusing on allergology. My DPhil work focuses on characterising allergic reactivity to fungi in a Zimbabwean population and this work is driven by the need to collect immuno-epidemiological data to understand the nature of fungal allergy in Zimbabwe.
