Tell us about yourself and your research interests?
I am currently a Postdoctoral research fellow in the EOD working group at KCCR in Kumasi Ghana under the mentorship of Prof Ellis Owusu-Dabo. I recently completed a WHO/TDR clinical research and development fellowship at GSK Vaccines s.r.l in vaccinology and clinical trials. My main research focuses on Tuberculosis Immunology with particular interest in vaccine immunology. My group studies immune responses, immune polarization and immunomodulation during TB (pediatric and adult), MDR-TB and its coinfection with HIV with special emphasis on application to immunodiagnostics and vaccine candidature. I am also involved in studies in type2 diabetes, Schistosomiasis and other diseases that falls within the focus of EOD research group at KCCR. I hold a PhD in Immunology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where I previously read Biochemistry as an undergraduate student. I am currently a board member of the convention for Biomedical Research, Ghana.
