Tell us about yourself and your research interests?
I graduated with Master of Science in Medical Microbiology from University of Gondar, Ethiopia. I have been working in the Bahir dar University and University of Gondar, Department of Medical Microbiology as an instructor and researcher. I was a participant of Immunopaedia course in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia. My previous research and work experience relies mostly on infectious and non-infectious diseases such as HIV, TB, Cancer, Diabetes. I have an experience of more than 18 years as medical laboratory technologist at different settings ranging from peripheral health facilities to the regional health research laboratory Center in Amhara region, Ethiopia. I have also worked at USAID funded project MSH/HEAL-TB (Help Ethiopia Address the Low TB performance) for more than 4 and half years, which was dedicated to improve case detection and treatment outcome of TB in Ethiopia. My ultimate goal is to work with research based groups in Infectious and non-infectious diseases, new diagnostic modalities, immunology, new vaccine as well as drug development and digging out new scientific ideas for better clinical and programmatic management of major public health problems.
